Multiple routes is a nice idea! I have an idea how I can do it. Insane jumps is also essential :) although I think I'm gonna take a break from the editor a little for now, to do some of the actual game. Road widths is already in there, using the resize button. Definately want to do a Mac version lat...

Yes I came across that game, it looks really impressive. I believe he went off and built himself a real stunt car too!

My first Ogre Project

Hi all. I recently started working on a racing game I always wanted to make. It's really early stages, just an editor at the moment based around splines. I've got only vague ideas about the gameplay, although the original inspiration is geoff crammond's old stunt car racer (showing my age). In addit...

What's the procedure for submitting an ogre enhancement?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, and I've enchanced Ogre:SimpleSpline so that it can give you equidistant interpolations regardless of whether the control points are equidistant. It's based on arclength now ( as was mentioned in the todo ). What is the procedure for submitting a change for review etc?...

@syedhs Thanks for the help, but I decided in the end I didn't want to enforce equidistant control points in the end. I managed to fix it finally so that the interpolations are equidistant regardless of the distance between the control points. http://mmazzoli.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/equi.png Thanks aga...

Ah yes I see, sorry for the misunderstanding.

That is in fact exactly what I was trying to do in my first post, inherit from SimpleSpline and create a spline with uniform length between the nodes. I shall look for the one you posted.

Thanks.

Hi syedhs, I'm using the spline to generate track segments for a racing game: http://mmazzoli.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/game2808.PNG I'd eventually like to make a simple editor, and I thought it would be nicer for a track designer to not have to enforce that your control points are equidistant. Also, I'd...

Ogre::SimpleSpline enhancement

Hi All, I've been trying to enchance SimpleSpline so that it can provide uniformally spaced interpolations even when the control points are not uniformally spaced. This can be done by reparameterizing t as a distance along the actual spline. Here is my code for the overridden interpolate function. m...

Hey Kerion, Yeah I agree about using windows forms. That was one of my main incentives to look into MOgre. I've done a few small C# gui tools at work now and I couldn't bear to go back to MFC again. I want my game to have an editor, although it should be quite simple, so I may just end up doing it i...

Thoughts on Ogre or Mogre

Hi All, Just wanted to say this is my first ever post! I've been learning about ogre for a while now, and finally starting using it. I think it's fantastic. I have the very beginnings of a racing game and I couldn't decide whether to do it in c++ or c#, so I have written it once in each language, in...
