Re: OGRE Will Switch To The MIT License from 1.7

This will definitely attract more 'professional' users to OGRE. Didn't see it that way before reading Sinbad's blog.

This sounds to me like the decorator pattern. I think the Blender Game Engine use that type of approach, you can parent different objects, lights an other things called empties that are like scenenodes. Also, to any object you can add a Sensor, Controller or Actuator that helps control different act...

Most engines feels like a bunch of tech demos glued together, that's because making a good designing is hard and most people just want cool graphics and don't worry (initially) on how it will integrate with the rest of the game or application. I think Sinbad has made a great job in the design of Ogr...

It is not about whether Ogre can be ported to Wii, but about whether it is the best choice to do it. Then i agree with Xavier, if your project relies heavily on Ogre it's better to port Ogre, if not you can do a fresh start on another engine. As for the map editing: for De Blob and the Gorilla proj...

If i were you i would be cuestioning the abilities of my team, i can't talk about Wii's API but i don't think it design (paradigm) is that much different from OpenGL or DX. So a talented programmer could port Ogre to Wii. The same for the map editing, some of us use a modified versión of the dotSce...

Blender 2.44 has a cool feature that let's you bake the resulting rendered image of your model to a texture that matches the UV layout of your model.

Check it out here http://www.blender.org/development/rele ... er-baking/

I would recommend 'The Cg Tutorial', since GPU gems assume you already know shaders. 'The Cg Tutorial' will teach you from the very basics.

After bugging me for hours, i just discover what make it go wrong. This line:

Code: Select all

sceneMgr->setShadowTechnique(SHADOWTYPE_STENCIL_ADDITIVE);
Yep, Stencil Additive shadows affects the shaders (at least in my computer). So i will be using texture shadows for the game.

[SOLVED] Celshading not working correctly

Hi everyone, I'm trying to do a cartoon look to the characters of my game so i used the celshading material that come's with Ogre, but all i get is an all black material, as shown here: http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/2333/skullcelmalotj4.png So i modified the Celshading example of Ogre to load m...

2) you just use Quaternions and Vector3s for the same task: mNode->setPosition(targetPos + rotateQuaternion * aroundPos); // quite sure you want the SceneNode to face the "targetPos" mNode->lookAt(targetPos, Node::TS_WORLD); // or mNode->setOrientation(aroundPos.getRotationTo(targetPos)); greetings...

El parametro debuggerOuput sirve para enviar la salida del log a std::err, lo que no sé es como hacer en windows para abrir una ventana de consola para que imprima los datos.
