Brief description:
Story Line(under construction still):
Introduction

The Galaxy:The galaxy at this point in time is ran by the democratic intergalactic republic, but the alien race from the outskirts of the galaxy have been over looked for many years. During these years they have grown in military power and anger towards the republic.

Opening Scene/Location:The game at the point is opening up to a desert like farming planet similar to tatoen. Here there is a small tribe of humans. Many of which are farmers, with little fighting or military training. At this time their village is invaded by the aliens on the outskirts. Time: it is almost sunrise as this scene ends. Objective: the tribe must make it to a communications site to contact the senate and make them aware of this army. Then a small group of soldiers will arrive on the planet and wipe out remaining invaders, but some of the invaders took a few prisoners and escaped. One of which being the main character's girl friend/wife maybe.

The character then enlists in the galactic army.

Training: After enlisting in the army the character is flown out to another an urban planet where the republic is strong for his training. On the planet there is also a military base where his training begins. While being put through training with a number of other troops, they are being observed by a general who is looking for a commander for a special platoon. The troops are unaware of this. (NOTE: In the game movie clips of the general and other commanders will be shown of what is going on here.)

While still in training the troops go through their first couple of missions. Maybe 2 or 3. During these missions the character picks up a variety of weapons that are much better than the ones he was given at training camp. Making excellent use of these weapons will make the general looking for a new commander more impressed.

Our project is currently ran as the SpoCore.Com's community project. We are developing a first person shooter. The game takes place as a war between alien races vs human. The levels will be set up as a series of missions as the player progresses through the game.

Target aim:
Open Source/Freeware

Compensation:
As with most open source projects, we will not be providing any compensation.

Technology:

:arrow: Ogre3D(Graphics Engine)
:arrow: PhysX(Physics Engine)/with NxOgre wrapper
Later we intend to add a sound library, possibly OpenAL.

Talent needed:
:arrow: We are looking for programmers with any level of experience, seeing as this is a learning experience for every one.

:arrow: We also are in the need of modelers and concept artistes, particularly scenery/landscape artists.

:arrow: We are also looking for anyone that may be interested in creating a custom design for the project's website. Currently we are using a wiki for all of our website needs, but as we get closer to actual the actual release a good looking site will help us in marketing.

Team structure:
The team is pretty much open for anyone to join. We have three different ranks, all new members will start at level 3 and work their way up. Much more information can be found about the team on this page.
