The java support only at the moment is only because the rest of the android SDK and o/s is not complete, it will have c++ later on.

Theres some sort of odd LOD bug in directx, do something to one of the pages, move away or foward and the page starts breaking up into a mess of polygons.

Best way I know for terrians is having heightmaps for each segment, all the other stuff like trees,etc are separate models that are later placed by the game on the map.

Also it is definitly no easy task to seemlessly change the directx9 render system to a directx10 render system. It isn't just extra features that were added to DirectX10, quite a bit of core functions have changed and their usages.

Are you using Ogre 1.4? The internal input manager was removed in favor of using OIS so the tutorials that use them are out of date.

The DLL should be the same as long as the files are the same and you don't use any hardcoded paths in the code to do something.

I recommand getting the Feburary 2006 SDK if your using the april sdk, it intregrates into vs 2005 for you.

Besides physics, hackers also like to exploit client sided variables and speed hacks(make sure the server knows what a resonable next position update from the client on the map is and not a sudden jump)
