Re: Necro Mutex playtesters? Especially Oculus users.

Thanks for the PM mkultra333, but honestly there is really no reason to drag me back into the thread. :) Hit a nerve did I? Only when you said 24fps is as good as 60fps. I never said that. Do not put words in my mouth and make outright lies about what I said. I said, 60fps is not a minimum. 24fps is...

Re: Necro Mutex playtesters? Especially Oculus users.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in... I knew I shouldn't have left this tab open on my tablet. I am just pointing out GTX 770 is fairly high for the graphical quality of your game. Forgot to say thanks for this subtle piece of encouragement. Don't get me wrong, I think the game look...

Re: Necro Mutex playtesters? Especially Oculus users.

GearCity is built on Windows for Windows. You hate the very operating system that your "highly successful" game is intended for and which is the primary operating system for PC Gaming and Development worldwide ? That's the equivalent of saying "I love Pizza but hate Cheese" Windows insecure, ...

Re: Necro Mutex playtesters? Especially Oculus users.

The fact you consider 1080p@60fps to be a minimum is part of the problem. That's a recommended spec. You quote specs for PUBG and DOOM, but lets be a little more honest with ourselves. :) Minimum should be the bare minimum to play. Does your game support 720? How about 1024x768? Whatever the lowest ...

Re: Necro Mutex playtesters? Especially Oculus users.

Thanks for the feedback. The GTX 770 came out in 2013, Windows 7 in 2009. Steam shows most people have DX12 capable cards. So my requirements don't seem that steep to me. I'd expect most PC first person shooter players to easily exceed those levels. But I guess I'll see. DirectX12 capable cards != ...

Re: Necro Mutex playtesters? Especially Oculus users.

So to formulate it better: VR Minimum Specs: Minimum Requirements for Vive or Oculus Rift. Non-VR Minimum Specs: DirectX10 (Windows 7+) GTX 770/RX570s. I've got a XP64 with a HD6750 and a Win 8 Laptop with an A8-6410. So I won't be able to help ya there. :) Before you sell it, you may want to get a ...

What's the estimated minimum specs/OS requirements? I may or may not be able to do some play testing, my Windows boxes aren't very powerful.

Re: [PAID] Looking for conversion of two shaders from glsl to hlsl (or cg).

Try posting classifieds on gamedev.net, gamasutra, the other industry specific sites, and the various reddit communities. Maybe even hit up a few IRC channels like ##opengl on freenode. Shaders are a bit niche, so you will have a hard time finding someone who specialises in it. Very few people learn...

Re: Ogre3D Based Game Sales

I've finally got a game to add to the list. http://store.steampowered.com/app/779590/Scavenger_SV4/ (Released 2018, not EA.) Awesome! I'll be sure to add it to the list next time I update it. (There are 3? or 4? games I need to add...) My own game has been taking up much of my time sadly. So it mig...

Re: State/feedback/rant -> Ogre 2.1

I guess I'll throw my two bits in. I view 2.1 as absolutely necessary in order to save Ogre. But at the same time I also consider it beta software that shouldn't be called "2.1" yet. Hell it shouldn't even be called 2.0 yet. Why? Because as devxkh mentions, it's missing a lot of features. I think th...

Re: [Announcement] Forums updated/ Addon forums to go down

the manual for 1.7 is still where it was before: http://www.ogre3d.org/docs/manual.old/ /docs/manual/ redirects the core pages to 1.10 for discoverability. I added a symlink so you can get around the redirects: http://www.ogre3d.org/docs/manual18/ Sorry, I was getting 1.7 documentation confused wit...

Re: [Announcement] Forums updated/ Addon forums to go down

Speaking of moving documentation to github. All manuals for older versions, such as Ogre 1.7, are now redirecting to the 1.10.9's github.io page. I see no way to change versions on this page, so I assume you have purged old data needlessly. :( Is there any place we can get the old manuals for the ol...

Anything that is in the world when you're born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. Anything that's invented between when you're fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. Anything invented after yo...

Sorry for the late reply, my work takes priority and I've been pretty busy. Just remember, these are all opinions. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink. I'm an old man, I hate a lot of the direction things are going in these days. so is github - just better suited for code...

Re: [Announcement] Forums updated/ Addon forums to go down

I echo hyyou's sentiments. The current wiki system (Tiki) has always been crap, but I don't like some of Paroj's plans either. Wikis are designed for crowd sourced documentation. I can easily sign up, edit pages, add pages, and everything is great. for tutorial/ sample code Doxygen is the way to go ...

Re: T.I.M.E.: The Orion Incident (pre-Alpha)

These kind of copyright violations happen alllllllll the time, and no controversy would usually occur unless the project attracts sufficient attention and actually generates any revenue, so it's usually not something for most to be too concerned about. You are correct that it happens frequently, an...

According to The best reasons NOT to use the Tombstone Engine : I wouldn't use Tombstone simply for the fact that the only reason it exists is because the Eric (the Author) rage quit C4 Linux support. Due to the very bad publicity (in my opinion) he renamed his engine to Tombstone, shut down the fo...

Looking pretty good! I've been thinking you needed to do a commercial game with your engine for quite a while.

Be sure to hire an English writer/editor to clean up video and screenshots before you do public press release of the game.
