I can't remember but that's common sense and boils down to the number of texture units available to shaders. The stock material consumes texture units like this: 1 for terrain normals 1 for terrain color map 1 for terrain light map ceil( (N-1)/4 ) for blending channels N for layer diffuse colors an...

The number of layers supported by the default terrain material depends on what features you enable (i.e. lightmap, global colormap, etc.). 4 layers is about what you get with all related features enabled. Are you making one of the tutorials? Did you modify the blend maps as well? part of the code is based on the Terrain Sample, anyway when I add a blendmaps it works perfectly, but, as I initialize the layerlist with 4 spaces, only the first 4 layers are visible. The error seems to be related with MinGW not Ogre.

Try to install MinGW again.

If in doubt run yourapplication.exe inside it's corrispective $(Ogre_HOME)/bin/debug or release folder
