Anyone else found the Games For Windows Live crap that you have to install along with GTA4 annoying? I've had to create a Rockstar Social Club account, AND a Games For Windows Live account, because the game WONT SAVE MY PROGRESS UNLESS I AM LOGGED IN!! But guess what, I cant login because it is not ...

(As a random aside, I can hear presumably drunk people moaning and screaming a few houses away, which sounds delightfully like a zombie apocalypse - am I the only one who actually finds the notion of such an event kind of exciting? I mean... holing up in a mall and holding out against the undead!) ...

Re: We are acid slaves.

I am using these as examples of things that people turn to for reasoning and answers. I imagine that the majority of the world’s populace have found or are seeking something to believe in, a reason or something to lead them. You suddenly take that away from them, and you've got a big problem. Just...

We are acid slaves.

"Living" organisms have a primary goal programmed into them - survival for the sake of propagation. We live to breed, and with humans and many animals a secondary goal dictates that we protect our offspring. So life isn’t about us, it’s about DNA. Our species and many others like it are like wal...

I posted a similar question earlier this year here (UK hosts). Following Sinbads advice, I got quotes from Rackspace, Dedipower and UKFast, and played them all off against each other. It worked like a dream ;) I have a small business website hosted with RackSpace now. Their support is rediculously g...

Large Hadron Collider Experiment

I never heard about this experiment until this morning, but sounds very interesting. Potentially opening up black holes and sucking us all into the nothingness.

I was watching it live on the web site, and I swear I saw the G-man walk past with his brief case...

@betajaen: hmm, interesting company, cheers, will have to read more.

@steven: Good point, I remember now reading Steves post about the Ogre servers. He mentions a few contenders (Rackspace, UKFast and Dedipower) that he must have researched and cherry picked - I think I'll look into them too.

Finding a server for a business web site

Does any one here have experience with web hosts in the UK for small businesses? It seems web hosting can be a bit of a minefield when it comes to business critical stuff, for example getting the load-balancing right. I hear you can get servers that automatically switch over to more servers to handl...

I would hate to be a royal. People think they can do what they want and go anywhere whenever they want, but the truth is they have very little freedom. Being born into that level of media attention is never going to fun. To me the idea of ruling royalty is rediculous, but luckily they dont (appear) ...

Over time you can interpolate the position on the spline e.g.

Anyway, in my opinion having the visitor of a website downloading a plug-in is a pain, most of the people I see are fed up with having pop-up opening asking them to install something. The only way of over-going that issue is to use a plug-in that is as spread as possible on the web. And I belive th...
