Kojak, Ive come across VirtualDub before (used it to create AVI's from screenshots), but I never knew it was a capturer!

Are you saying I can use it to directly record a scene in OGRE and output an AVI file without having to first create a sequance of images?

Creating Animated Gifs

I'd like to take some screen shots from an OGRE application and using the resulting images create an animated gif. Sort of like recording a short scene to AVI, but I just want something small in size, basic in quality and can be animated in a browser window, so animated gifs are my best bet. Unfortu...

Pelican Crossing have a browser plugin called Blink3D running Ogre and has physics (I think Havok) integration. The viewer is free but you pay for a license to use the SDK. Ive had a quick play with it and its quite good. Emma3D is another plugin with Ogre but its free and open source. I have not u...

Hey, that looks like a really cool track editor. Nice work, especially for your first project! Aah I cant remember its name but I used to play a racing game where you could create the tracks and choose from a bunch of cars, must be the same thing as geoff crammond's stunt car racer. I used to love t...

Just to calrify your points about path finding, you would use something like A* to calculate the path to get from A to B avoiding mountains and any STATIC objects. As the character moves 'attempting' to follow this path from A to B, a steering library such as openSteer is used to avoid the dynamic o...

I'd love to see a video of a bunch of spiders scuttling across an uneven surface at higher speeds. Its the speed that gets me I think. One minute on the floor, next minute halfway up your leg...

Ive got a great fund-raising idea! Until Ogre gets enough donations to top some target, the showcase forum will have a new thread called 'Sinbad: Wrong in a thong'. This will consist of pictures of Steve dressed only in the Ogre thong . However, in order to avoid this atrocity we have this monetary ...

Holy crap man - give us a video of you running about in that, pleeeease :D Hmm, one thing I would say to improve the realism of that scene, is the tree's in the distance on top of that mountain wouldnt really look like that. You wouldnt be seeing individual trunks or anything, just a big mess of gre...

Sorry if this has been touched on before, but will this paged terrain be compatible with JohnJ's PagedGeometry (for the trees and grass etc.) or does this pretty much replace that functionality, as in an alternative solution to do the same sort of thing?

This sounds great HexiDave, and good luck with the rest of those features. "Completely wrap-around world " Excellant.
