DEMOS

Post by morp » Tue May 31, 2005 9:49 pm

OGRE sound great, and I would like to experiment a little.
I downloaded and extracted the demos. I have directx9c.
Do these normally run standalone.
I have 'failed to create Direct3D9 object' erro.

I sometimes get that error after running some applications (no exact pattern for this error to appear). Try rebooting your system and crossing your fingers (microsoft stuff...).

If it still fails, run under OpenGL. I trust more it... ;)

Are you sure you have DirectX9c and not an earlier Dx9? This message is the classic one when you don't have a recent enough version.

ah..maybe this PC is a wimp

"The test to use the hardware-accelerated Direct3D 9 was skipped because the display driver does not support it...."

I just wanted a quick peek @ OGRE, I will find a machine with a better video card.
