morphing animation

Hi,
I was wondering if morphing animation is to be impleated as a feature in ogre anytime in the near future?

Does anyone have any ideas regarding the design of this feature and how they would like it to function ?
Which solution would people generally prefer ?
Should the keyframes be part of the mesh format or should keyframes just be several meshfiles ?

According to the Dagon Notes on the wiki this is already 'in progress'.
