Do you like scheme?

Post by JRX » Fri Jun 03, 2005 8:22 pm

I've got a question to all of you: do you know/use scheme? It is similar to the lisp language. I personally love this language, it is simply brilliant. I use it for scripting in several applications and I'm very happy with it. But I'm not sure if it's popular to game developers. What do you think about it?

If the words "open source" get you more excited than the words "free porn"...you might be a Game Developer.

Well, I like it at least as much as lisp (read: not at all. :P) But I know of at least one other Ogre based project using it too. But there is no website on it, so no link here. But at least you know, that you're not alone. ;)

A Scheme/Lisp-like language was used in one of my most favorite games... Abuse. I know Scheme fairly well, but in real world, I don't use it beyond novice usage... I can't get into being a good Scheme programmer, can't use it to find solutions to my problems that easily. Takes extra thinking.
