Hello :)

I've currently been looking into graphics engine for use in my Senior Project next year. I'm looking to do a game that sort of mixes 2d and 3d graphics.

The best example I could find on what I'm looking at is "Final Fantasy Tactics" for the playstation. It seems to use sprites for the characters, though you can rotate that camera around the "3d" battlefields.

I dunno, still in the early phases, just trying to figure out the best engine to use. And I've only heard good things about OGRE.

Just looking to see if this sort of thing is feasible with OGRE, or if there is a better engine for this that you guys could point me to.

Ogre is a great graphics engine. I would highly recommend it if you're familiar with C++. You should mess around with some of the demos and example code that is available to see if it is what you're looking for.

Ogre is a really powerful rendering engine - so, yes, it will be perfect for you.
The limit is not Ogre itself - but your dedication and imagination.

Here's a 'couple links to get you started: ... ight=3d+2d ... ight=3d+2d

I hope you choose the company of the Ogre.

Yeah my college focuses almost entirely on c++ so I shouldn't have a problem there.

Going to check out them links now :)
