it might be worth you guys using the Octopus editor for exporting physics as well as dotScene from Max (it exports as XODE which is actually quite generic, yake uses the format for Novodex for instance)
Do you use dotScene incidently?
You could also use some yake components, although it seems you've got alot of stuff in there yourselves. www.yake.org

Also I find on my 64meg ati 9600 that is either runs ok, or REALLY badly :D I assume my little laptop card is running out of texture memory and

ps a reset car key would be nice :) Also an in car view. The current camera code needs to be 'loosened' from the car, it's pretty headache inducing driving over the bumps :)

hi vectrex,
maybe it's a bit late for a reply :) but I was working the last few days and blah... ;)

- I will have a look at the Octopus editor, but I think I will be programming the toolset myself just for the fun of it. ;)

- We don't use .dotScene just broken-up meshes for the landscape and the octree scenemanager

- We have a reset-car-key: it's '0' ;)

- We couldn't test the game on many cards, but I think 64MB is not enough for the amounts of textures used in the "game"

- Yes, you're right. The current camera us fu**ing crap at the moment

Azrael_K:

- We don't use PyOgre. Everything c++, Novodex runs thorugh Nogredex which can be found in the ogreaddons on the CVS repository.
FYI, we're going to go the Novodex way since the goal at the academy is not to build a commercial title but something you can show to people at job-interviews ;) If someone likes to publish our game we can still make up a deal and hack in another engine or make them pay for Novodex.

To everybody else:
I cannot express how much I love this board, the people checking in every day. Ogre and its community are "TEH ROXX0rs"

cyall soon

Am i the only one who have this problem?
It's very irritating, please tell me how to fix that problem, thanks

Post at least your ogre log so people can identify your problem more easily.

Sounds like a hardware or driver problem. Maybe overheating?

Yes we're still alive and kicking ;) I'm currently working on improved friction calculations. (Pacejka anyone? :) )

Hi guys,
During last month I worked with Chris from Elabb Solutions on our new Fragfist Webpage.
Please check it out, we are very proud of it's look and provided content.
The page will work as a developer's and games academy diary.

During this weekend, Chris will upload photos for the Team section and create an impressum at the bottom of the pages.
I will be updating this page on a weekly basis.

Hope you like it. Enjoy your visit.

@sindbad, could you put a link to our website in our featured projects gallery, thanks in advance.

Duuuude !!!!
That's so cool ! I really enjoy the website (I like the 'retro' style), the videos and the game !
Novodex is absolutely amazing and you use it very well. The game looks really great, I'm really stunned by the beauty of the car (specially the wheels!)
I have some difficulties to drive correctly the car but I think I just have to get a little more training
Anyway, well done !

You got it man. For the design of Fragfist we got heavily inspired by our childhood toys. e.g. Saber Rider and the Star Sherrifs, Galaxy Rangers, Transformers, M.A.S.K. and StarCom!
These toys taught us so much about style, design and magnetism... :D
We wanted our page to represent some of the mood of this great era.
@Sinbad: Thanks for the quick link.

I have a large monitor but I just get agfist. Is there some centering tags in the html that isn't quite right?

Seems like an IE problem, it looks fine in Firefox :)

Still it's like 80% of the visitors that only see Agfist. And the page isn't valid xhtml either so I wouldn't wonder...

Great job on fragfist though! It's an amazing inspiration to all of us. I wish there was a games academy around here...

Thanks phantom.

you're right sinbad.
I just forgot to mention it in the first place. Internet Explorer can't handle the site's style sheets and transparencies at the moment.
Chris is working on it. He's confident to fix this problem during the next two weeks.
In the meantime the page is best viewed using: Opera, Netscape, Firefox basically everything else than IE.
I'd recommend to use one of these browsers anyway, rather than surfing with Explorer. But that's up to you of course.

Hah, just wanted to make an update to another post i made here earlier...

I said that Novodex can't create convex meshes.
That's NOT true. I just founf the option it was just not well documented.
It works... shmooooove.

I'm working on the vehicleeditor right now. The basic functionality is ready
(including creation of convex hulls)

Hi y'all.

I just want to point you to our website.
There's new stuff in the Progress section.
Including some videos of us driving around and crashing each other.

I will upload a paper about our deformation system when I find the time to finish it. :)
