I just checked and all links still seem to work. Anyway, did you start from the start menu or directly with the exe? The exe does not work directly, so you need to use the start menu shortcut.

The start menu shortcut, which is: "F:\Program Files\De Blob\Blob EN\De Blob.exe" EN

The Blob received a mention in Games for Windows (aka Computer Gaming Monthly) in their latest magazine's 101 Free Games article. :)

[edit] I would post a pic, but my scanner is having some issues right now. :?

Cool! Can anyone else scan that? We also got mentioned in the Edge again, this time we were called the posterboy of the Dutch games industry. Somehow I would have expected a Helghast instead. ;)

Hey, The Blob has a full page feature in the August 2007 edition of Britain's PC Zone, where its awarded the Freeware Game of the Month.

In closing, the reviewer states "Think Alien Hominid crossed with Katamari Damacy and the paint bucket tool in MSPAINT, and you'll understand why we love The Blob. It's brilliant, stylish fun."

Congratulations, its also included on their DVD, so expected to gain some fans from this!

Are you using Ogre in Wii too, or are you using anything else?

Well, we are not making the re-make for the Wii. Blue Tongue is and they are not using Ogre for it.

The deal with THQ has been signed yesterday, and part of it is that we get to be in the credits of the new game. :)

:) All nice and smooth...but is a shame u didnt get to implement it (Ive seen the demo movies, your implementation seemed more technically correct and fun thou theirs is little bit more complex)

Sorry for bumping this topic but..

If anyone has an IPhone check out the 'de blob' adaptation for it.
Nice to see an initial indy Ogre project receive so much success.

Yeah, cool indeed! I did not hear of this version until last week.

I am really looking forward to finally getting the chance to play the whole Wii game when it launches in September!

I've played it and it feels really nice. It's certainly used the initial idea well and made it into what feels like a different game (considering the wiimote that was necessary I think). I think you'll be pleased, the paint splatter effects are cool. It's Australian too :D

The Australian thing is actually the only thing that I dislike about the game... ;)

The paint splatters are done nicely indeed, I wish I had thought of doing it that way at the time, for this is much more stylish, instead of just a smooth growing circle.

nm. I just saw the wii commercial and thought of this game. I will by it for my cousin next month for his b-day. Game looks cool but I kind of like characters from the train station game. Oogst, did you take part in the development or was the game created by the same game designers?

All the rights were sold to THQ and an internal studio of theirs (Blue Tongue in Australia) made this new version. And hell, I think they did an awesome job! I got De Blob for Wii last week and I am totally in love with it. Which is funny, because it ended up having lots of differences from our version, although the core (painting + platforming) is still there all the way. Really cool! And really cool that THQ is pushing it with an international TV marketing campaign, and action figures, and stuff like that.

I take it they didn't use Ogre? :( I got really excited thinking it was your Ogre version of the game on the Wii!

Nevertheless, to have your idea go international is a great achievement. Must make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)
