Hi danduk82!
I have seen your plugins, skyx and hydrax, and I wonder if there is an "offical" GIT or mercurial repository. I've found the unofficial GIT repository for Hydrax.0.5.4 (what do you think about it?), but nothing for skyx.0.4. Do you release it only on a "download-the-archive" base?
No, there is not a public official repository for Hydrax or SkyX. The reason is that I personally don't use a public repository for these projects inside Paradise Sandbox's dev environment, so I create a package for each public release.

About SkyX: I recommend using the official 0.4.1 package (http://www.paradise-studios.net/?page_id=270)
Hydrax: I recommend waiting until Hydrax 2.0 will be available, within 4-8 weeks. The current public version is too much outdated.
Moreover, I think you are right with the price you plan to ask for hydrax2.0, but how would it be released? opensource or not? If we plan to use it in our project, how should we pay it? Could we distribute it with the sources of the game?
When purchasing an Hydrax 2.0 license (there will be different licenses depending of the target app), the client will have full access to the source code, but he will be not allowed to redistribute it. So, in open-source aplications Hydrax will have to be included as a precompiled dependency (.lib / .dll) and only including the header files, never the .cpp files.

Cheers,

Xavier

HI,
thanks for your answer.

I see, this may be an issue for our project... BTW, I will first try it and then discuss with the others. I will play with the old version for the moment, until v2.0 is released.
About SkyX: I recommend using the official 0.4.1 package (http://www.paradise-studios.net/?page_id=270)
Great, I will use this one.

Do you plan to have a repository for those people who buy a license? In fact, I usually prefer repository-based software, rather then the fixed archives distributed software, because they are easier to update during development. What do you think about it?

Thanks for your great job,
cheers

SkyX and Hydrax website has been moved to: http://www.paradise-sandbox.com/hydraxskyx.php

The old website has been redirected.

Hi Xavyiy,

Hope you are well. Any news on the new version of hydrax? I'm keen to buy the 60euro license and get started on integration, Especially since trying it out in the paradise sandbox (Awesome work btw).

Thanks

Hi scratchyrice,

I haven't had the time yet to finish Hydrax 2.0 and commercially release it, but I will try to do it during Christmas!

Basically, the only remaining things are the underwater shaders GLSL version and some minor things that I want to change before the commercial release.

Thanks for the interest, I will keep you updated!

Where can I find 0.4.1? The file on your website (http://modclub.rigsofrods.com/xavi/SkyX/SkyX-v0.4.rar) says:

Code: Select all

#define SKYX_VERSION_MAJOR 0
#define SKYX_VERSION_MINOR 4
#define SKYX_VERSION_PATCH 0

Ouch, my fault Transporter!

There is not any 0.4.1 yet :P. I guess the fact that the last "official" Hydrax version was 0.5.1 has confused me!

the skyx version maintained by ogitor team works with ogre 1.10( last time i checked... )
for usage example you can rip some code from skyx ogitor's plugin( like i did ) https://bitbucket.org/ogitor/ogitor
or you can search the web for the original file named "SkyX-v0.4.rar" -
this file should contains a clean basic ogre-sky usage sample( probably won't compile as is )
e.g http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/repo/extr ... 434bd9659/
the woods are lovely dark and deep
but i have promises to keep
and miles to code before i sleep
