Poster's author is Frédéric BOEHLER

...mmm... maybe they should have named this event "Ogre & Beers"?

A mini-conference is proposed the 13th of Mars 20h30 by Stéphane Becker aka Whirly( blog fr ), CEO of Creative-Patterns in a pub in Strasbourg (France).

He will discuss about the developpement of commercial games with open libraries like Ogre3D that Creative-Patterns game developpement studio used on Click&Build (temporary name) that is a building developpement management simulator.

You can watch a teaser there.

If you understand french and are around Strasbourg at that time , and obviously are interrested in using Ogre in commercial projects or anything else (or interrested in beers...), please come join us. :)

The pub is named Café Rohan :
10 place du Marché aux Cochons de Lait
67000 Strasbourg
Tramway station : Porte de l’Hopital, line A or D.
The pub is 300 meters from the station.

Here is the map.

Thanks for your attention. :)

WooHoo! This is definately cool! I wouldn't mind having one of these Ogre posters hanging on my wall! :D

Great looking game, too. :)

That looks really cool.

Although I think there should be a law that all game screenshots are a minimum of 1024x768. :)

I'll make a mention of this on the main webpage to try to encourage participation in this event, even though it's quite short notice :)

Oh, and those shots are definitely going in the featured projects once you can give me a larger selection, preferably at higher res :)

I am the guy in charge of the miniconf. I will just add a pair of infos...

Until now we did not release much info about the project mainly because we are a little bit tied by our editor. And sometimes you wonder about the communication strategy of these guys.

We will try to make a video of the presentation that will be available for download or perhaps a mix of powerpoint + audio. It could be the right moment to learn some french :)

I think that during next week we will also do our coming out about the project, which means give all information to be included in the "featured project" section. I could even have some upstreaming to do, except that some of the things we did were included later in ogre (like some post processing code to do bloom for instance). But we will see.

For information, what you see is a 20 Months / 11 guys project. And the game IS quite complex with a lot interresting stuff happening on the screen.

I was there, that was very interesting. They gave some general informations about their game and they explained why, how, they used ogre for their game. After answered all questions, and after several drinks Image they show us their awesome work.

Just wanted to know that was this a one-off event? Do they have plans to organise it every year ? This year did it happen?

That was a unique presentation of Ogre but there is a gathering each month.
No other Ogre presentation is planned for instance, but maybe in the future? Other presentations talked about Gits, TRAC, etc , open source tools and usage in real world enterprises using open source tools.

If you have a proposal of presentation, i can contact the organisators.
