Can I post about it here?
I am an experienced 3D artist. I have small web shop where I am selling 3D assets for game developers mostly. All I made myself.
The question is directed more for forum moderators: Can I adverting it here? And if I can, in what forum?
Thank you!

Re: Can I post about it here?
Advertising 3D assets is allowed, but only if they include ogre's native formats.
So for example, advertising a model which comes as a Max file isn't allowed, but advertising a model which comes as a Max file and also includes ogre .mesh, .skeleton and .material files already built and tested is fine.
This makes sure that the assets are suitable for ogre (correct number of vertex skin weights, bone counts, orientation, shaders bound to materials correctly, etc).

Re: Can I post about it here?
You might consider download the Ogre exporter for your modelling program of choice. It's usually easy to do the export, and once you have, you'll have access to Ogre's users.
In fact, you should know that several applications and libraries have adopted Ogre's .mesh format, even though they have little to no other connection to Ogre. Those markets could also be reached in this way.
Just a thought, anyway. Good luck with your art.

Thank you for help guys!
One last question.
I downloaded ogre exporter and exported one of my animated characters.
Is here any free viewer I can use to check exported stuff?
Actually I found one here: http://www.ogremax.com/downloads
But seems it don't work asking for XIMPUT1_3.dll file.
Thank you!

Re: Can I post about it here?
Lots of people use OgreMeshy for viewing the output of their export http://www.ogre3d.org/tikiwiki/Ogre+Meshy
For my project the artist checks all his exports in Meshy before sending to me to integrate.
Good luck, how about you give us a public domain licensed export of something you're proud of so we can sample your wares

Re: Can I post about it here?
That's a real nice site you got there, I was browsing some of the paid characters and I appreciated the model info, animation lists and the youtube videos showing it all off, very pro.
Good pricing too! Have a shot at exporting something into our native format and see how you go.

Thank you for kind words areay!
Soon I will start to add OGRE format to my assets and keep post here about it on the top.
I will do 1-3 models per day, because I have no much free time now, but at the end all Unity assets will be useable in Ogre as well.

Re: Can I post about it here?
I recommend that when you've got some Ogre formats ready that you post in the 'Artists & Content Creators' forum as that's where people who are interested are more likely to be looking, here's that forum section link http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=8
Also, there's a section in the Wiki that lists 3rd parties who do commercial work with Ogre; that'll be you when you get some exports going. Ask one of the moderators to add you maybe (someone like the incredibly skilled 'Kojack' who is a mod and has already replied to this thread). Here's that contractors wiki link http://www.ogre3d.org/tikiwiki/Contractors
Good luck pal

Don't know if I can be i contractor list with only my shop, because I actually have no time for freelance work right now. I am working on full time position, and do new things for my story very slowly. But lets see.

Re: Can I post about it here?
You don't have to write code to export Ogre art. Just download the exporter for your modelling software.
Feel free to ask for more clarification about anything that confuses you.

Re: Can I post about it here?
Hm... I downloaded exporter and exported 2 assets. One animated character and second Forest Hill game location. Problems stars when I tried to use different viewers to take a look on exported files. On my Windows Vista 32 no one worked.johnhpus wrote:You don't have to write code to export Ogre art. Just download the exporter for your modelling software.

I took exported files with all directories to the work. I have Windows 7 64 there. Viewers of http://www.ogremax.com/ worked but animated character lost its animations. Location was fine with one exception only diffuse texture was presented in material channel.
I don't think this is enough to sell assets. I am not familiar with Ogre engine so I have problem to present my assets in nice way.
Usually I have no tables to export my things to FBX, DAE (Collada) or .X file formats.

Re: Can I post about it here?
I would post in the artist forum the problems you are having detailing what exporter you are using and how the model is created. Screen shots as well sometimes help.
Since you mentioned ogremax I am presuming you are using 3DS and I do know that the free exporter is limited so this might be the problem.
