[Terrain]Sample Terrain Question

HI,
After using Ogre Terrain system, I get several question.
In Ogre Sample Terrain, the function setBlendValue() introduce that 0 = transparent.

Code: Select all

        /** Set a single value of blend information (0 = transparent, 255 = solid)
        @param x,y Coordinates of the point of data to get, in image space (top down)
        @param val The blend value to set (0..1)
        */
        void setBlendValue(size_t x, size_t y, float val);
When I set 0, I got a black square, I'm not sure what I have done is right to get it actually transparent.

Also is there any possible to rotate the terrain?

Or any way to change the normals like 3dmax's "Edit Nomals"?
