0_Bootstrap tutorial works, but many errors in the log

Operating System: :Pop! OS (Ubuntu derivative):
Render System: :OpenGL 3:

Just would like to check whether I (as an absolute newbie) should be worried about the number and type of all these errors in the log, when the tuturoal application seems to run and display properly. Should I spend time & energy trying to eliminate them?

Parsing script DualQuaternion.program
High-level program 'Ogre/DualQuaternionHardwareSkinningTwoWeightsTwoPhaseCg' is not supported: Unable to compile Cg program Ogre/DualQuaternionHardwareSkinningTwoWeightsTwoPhaseCg: The compile returned an error.

which looks pretty serious. However, the 0_Bootstrap tutorial builds without warning and, when I run it, the Ogre Sindbad image appears. There are many more errors in the log.

these errors are due to the usage of Cg with Mesa GL. Try using the GL3+ RenderSystem. (The log says you are using the legacy GL 1.5 RenderSystem)

It seems that the choice of OpenGL 1.5 versus OpenGl 3 is not specified in the c++ code or CMakeLists.txt for 0_Bootstrap. I recall seeing it in the Configure dialog box for the SampleBrowser app, but the choice seems to be sticky. Once set, it’s difficult to find out how to reset it to the other choice.

Is there a general method and / or API for making that choice?

yes, you can set the rendersystem by code like this:

the default path however is to use the app specific config file:
~/.cache/OgreTutorialApp/ogre.cfg
