Add submesh from a mesh to a second mesh

Post by Niubbo »

Ogre Version: 1.12.8
Operating System: win10
Render System: dx9

Hi

I'm following this tutorial https://codedocs.xyz/OGRECave/ogre/manu ... ation.html for the creation of mnaual mesh using vertex and index buffer. I understood that if I want create more submesh in a single mesh, i have to create a single array of all the vertex data valid for all the submeshes and create and index buffer for each submesh. I wonder how it works if I want copy in a mesh already create with own submeshs a specific submesh from another mesh. I saw in another post it exists the clone method for this, but I wonder how it works the merging of vertex numbers: I mean in the original mesh the vertex 1 will have a specific location different from that one of vertex 1 in the destination mesh.

thanks.

Thanks, so essentially the clone can be done only if the vertex buffer is not shared but specific of submesh, correct?
