Same situation with Cg in Cel-Shading and Compositor samples when I removed GLSL-, HLSL- delegates from unified verted- and fragment- programms.

Cg does not work with any GL or GL3+, but works with D3D9
I changed *.lib link order - cg.lib (cg first), opengl32.lib, glu32.lib - and no effect ((

Btw, I build OGRE with all files in single project/solution that produces one single EXE without any DLL's (except cg.dll and sdl2.dll, of course)
Btw, there is no problem with v1.9.0+GL+ Cg and v1.12.12+D3D9+Cg, it happens only with v1.12.12 + GL/GL3 + Cg :(

Both dll's (cg.dll and sdl2.dll) are mapped into Ogre****.exe process (loaded) . See screenshot.

Maybe it's a problem/conflict at function-linking level... :( Very fuckin strange :(

I found that the lifetime of CgPlugin == Ogre application lifetime, i.e. there are no calls of CgPlugin->shutdown() or CgPlugin->uninstall() while the application is running, this means that the plugin is active all time.

It would be great if you told me where to dig (file, method, class of Ogre) and what to check...

What version of CG are you using?

Another thing: have you tried a simple shader from the wiki?

gl3+ does not support the arbfp1 etc profiles, so that technique is correctly unsupported. There are glslv and glslf profiles that can be used with gl3+, but cg is not very good at generating glsl..

I just tried that simple orange shader and it works OK in OGRE version 1.12.12 with both DirectX9 and OpenGL 1.x

Yes, this seems to be a problem with my build and not with the OGRE.

I've already tried everything:
1) changed the compiler version (2017, 2015)
2) changed the order of libraries linking
3) changed compiler and linker settings
4) compared projects with Araxis Merge - D3D9 (working) vs GL (non-working), both projects is absolutely identical (except of course OgreComponent.h)
5) launched with different GPU - integrated Intel HD 4000 and GeForce GT 630M
6) built the project with different versions of the CG : CG-3.1_April 2012 and CG-2.2_February 2010

Absolutely no effect... :shock:

7) also ran orangeshader.сg for D3D9 and GL - for D3D9 it works successfully, but for GL (and GL3+) it doesn't work - same error :

....
I really don't understand where the problem could be. :x

Fixed! :D
I noticed that the shader never compiles!
(see screenshot)

I just cleared the cache (c:\Users\<your-user>\Documents\OGRE Sample Browser\cache.bin) :D ))))
And it worked! :D

We can also disable the cache:

Still doesn't work for GL3+ (The same error message from the screenshot from the first post), but I'm glad it works for GL :D

I'm glad you solved it but it is a bit concerning that the microcode cache could produce such a problem.

the cache error will be solved by https://github.com/OGRECave/ogre/pull/2352

as said, GL3+ does not support the selected profiles. Add glslv/ glslf.
