[2.1] Trouble with transparent objects.

Post by Jay721 » Tue Feb 05, 2019 9:41 pm

Silly issue. I'm trying to make something semi-transparent but having some trouble... I get the object's HlmsPbsDatablock and do this

Code: Select all

block->setTransparency(0.1);
Instead of seeing the things behind the object, I am simply seeing the scene's clear colour. This line of code worked as expected in a previous project with Ogre so I'm a little confused.

thanks.

I'm extremely frustrated...
The issue has (overnight) resolved itself without any changes from myself.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Different issue now... It's all working fine in debug builds, but my release build is crashing on this line:

Code: Select all

block->setTransparency(0.5f, Ogre::HlmsPbsDatablock::TransparencyModes::Fade);
I'm not getting any info apart from

Code: Select all

Exception thrown at 0x0F429CB7 (OgreMain.dll) in test.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x0B161FF8.
I only know it's this line in Release because the program works fine with it commented.

Any idea what I could of done wrong?

The crash doesn't happen if I replace the line with

Code: Select all

block->setTransparency(1.0f, Ogre::HlmsPbsDatablock::TransparencyModes::None);
