Hash to identify MovableObject

Post by st4lk3r87 » Sat Jan 16, 2010 10:28 pm

There are a lot of system that utilize Hash of a string instead of the String directly. Could be this a good suggestion ?

What exactly do you need?
If it is about SceneManager needing a name for movables, this is no longer the case in Ogre 1.7. (Well internally it still has one, but the need for it will be resolved in one of the next versions (hopefully next ;))) For everything in your client app, there is always the pointer to a MovableObject which is itself usable as a hash or can be more efficiently be fed to a hash algorithm, if the raw pointer doesn't suffice.

More context please! :)

I resolved my problem by use SetUserAny and GetUserAny method :D
