Ogre Media Kit

Post by SunSailor »

Don't know, if I just havn't found it, if so, sorry for poluting the forum. I'm looking for a media kit for ogre, containing the logos and may be other stuff to be used in own applications, e.g. placing it seamless in a splash screen, putting it on a website and such things. Is there something like that and, if not, would it be of much trouble to build one and provide it in the download section? The images shouldn't be final ones, those can be downloaded on the website, but kind of photoshop or gimp layered images...

Thanks in advance,
Andreas "SunSailor" Podgurski

For your website, there's a link icon on the right-hand side of www.ogre3d.org. There's also a log in ogrelog.jpg in the Media\Materials\Textures area, although I know this isn't the best quality. It's on my list to sort out, I intend to sort out a new website and proper publicity media for 1.0 but 1) haven't had time and 2) I suck artistically. I intend to use nfz's new Ogre head mesh for the new logo but I'm hoping he's going to texture it before I need to, because I'm clearly awful at it. :)

Artists: if you would like show off your talents, I'm open for a new Ogre logo, using nfz's Ogre head model.

At the moment, I would be interested in the three head logo used on the hp and in this forum, but without the writing above and the shadow below. If you have that image anywhere around, it would be very nice, if you could share it. I'm setting up a little page for realOgre, the ogre exporter for realsoft 3D and I wanted to build a little header with it, referencing both, ogre and realsoft.

One more wish, could you place the separated OGRE label, which is used above "Forums" and "Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine" here?

Thanks again. Is there interest to create a media kit? If so, I would pack the provided stuff with my edited ones (r.g. with transparent background) into such and write a little doc for that.

Sure, I quite like that logo actually. I might steal the idea when I get around to the new logo :)

Thank you very much!

I did another one with a bit more attitude to it:

Anyone who want's to use these can just take them without asking me... I also have these in 800x600 .bmp format without any anti-alising applied to them (which makes them easier to manipulate)... If you want them just send me a pm with your e-mail and I'll send them to you... i cant upload them because I don't have enough free space at my webhost...

I really like the second one, Ogre with Attitude. To me its saying "It eats up other competing 3D renderers" or "frightens them off".

Reminds me of a warhammer banner. Would be could, if we could get the discussed orge body mesh and give it a withered banner with this logo. A simple cloth simulation on the banner and the attacking ogre... What a nice demo that would be!

Finally, some real 2D logos :) I like the cloth simulation idea

I really like http://user.it.uu.se/~jeny6485/ogre2.jpg but the 'ear' looks a bit out of place in some way, as it's a double line. But that's just IMO.

The two lines is actually supposed to be some kind of rough quadratic ornament attached to his ear... the ear isn't showing in the second pic...
