Serialize vertex and fragment references

Post by spookyboo »

I'm using the MaterialSerializer but it doesn't export the vertex and fragment program references. I've seen in the forum that it was an issue in July 2004, but it seems that the author who mentioned it, didn't make a patch for it. I need it so it´s on my todo list now. I´m not sure when I can start, but I would like some pointers where to look into.

I do have a patch in progress for this as part of the material script enhancements that I mentioned back in January. I found a few bugs with named parameters so I am working those out now in order for the complete material and shader stuff to properly serialize to a file. Other enhancements that have been working since Oct '04 are material copying / templating within the material script, along with technique and pass naming.

So you are suggesting to wait? (besides it doesn´t make any sense that more people are working on the same patch)
Do you have an estimation when you patch will be included?
