If you like to have VS2010 from me you have to spend some money to me that I can buy a faster CPU. With my old computer I'll only build VS2013! Or you have to build VS2010 by yourself.

srry I think I've explained bad, I want to say that I only use vs2013, but I think that there are a lot of people who is using vs2010, or this is what I think, probably everybody is using vs2013. That will be better for you and all who are using your builds, which are perfect!.

If you want to build vs2013 only, I wont complain about, because I've ported all my projects to vs2013 and as I said it's really easy, so I think that everybody should port to vs2013 and you only need to compile with vs2013, which I think will be faster than before.

I've counted the downloads for the last release:

VS + Plattform
  • vc100-x86: 140
  • vc100-amd64: 29
  • vc110-x86: 113
  • vc110-x64: 39
  • vc120-x86: 249
  • vc120-x64: 178
This statistic shows that most of the developers are using VS2013.

OGRE-Version
  • 1.9.0: 152
  • 1.10.0: 27
  • 2.0.0: 39
  • 2.1.0: 37

The packages are correct. You have to set a special toolset (v120_xp) for the build process to support XP. I'm building and testing my packages for Win7.

That would amount to a fair amount of bandwidth. Over what time period? Just a thought, have you considered hosting your files via bittorrent?

Time period: 29.08.2015 - 06.06.2015
No, I can't host the files via bittorrent, because my computer is not running 24h/day. Also, I have only a small internet connection with 1 mbit/s upload. I think cloud storage (google drive, one drive or drop box) is a good solution. But I'm open to suggestions. I'm also still on building a NuGet service which should simplify a lot of things.

Hi everybody. I've been experiencing troubles with the building of Ogre 1.9 and VS 2013 with a 64 machine and mostly of forums I've read send me to this post which I think can help me a lot. The problem is that any of the links works. They are all broken. So I really really apreciated it if you could fix them because I'm kind of desperate

Thanks a lot :D

Which link is broken? I can download all files from the first post in this topic. I checked it on my computer at home and at my office which has a different internet connection. The files are hosted on Google Drive. Are you behind a proxy/firewall which is blocking this service?

I'm getting the same thing, every link in the first post comes up as a 403 error.
(I use google drive a lot on this pc for work so nothing is blocking it here)

Hm, strange! Maybe it's the short-url service. Could you please try the following links and tell me which is working? Thanks!

Both links work fine for me. I point out though don't click the hyper link in google drive click "Download Anyway"

Is Dropbox working in China? I found a few resources saying Dropbox is blocked, too. Also, there are few requirements:
  • 6 GB space (12 GB is better so, I can keep the last build as backup)
  • Allowed file size must be >= 350 MB
  • Counter for Downloads
  • English or German website

When I try to launch SampleBrowser.exe from ogre1.9sdk x86 on Windows 8.1 x64, I see "api-ms-win-core-heap-l2-1-0.dll" is missing. What does it mean?

Ogre SDK was probably made using VS2015 with Win10 SDK, it is not compatible with Win8.1 - import various APIs from different DLLs. Look here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/librar ... s.85).aspx for details.

Basically, either use Win8.1 SDK or be sure to link kernel32.lib rather than OneCore.lib

VS2012 is building on Windows 7, VS2015 on Windows 10. To enable all features of VS2015 you have to use Win 8.x or newer and I don't have a Win 8.x license, so I've upgraded one computer to Win 10. I'm not happy with that solution, because Win 10 is very unstable.

You should install VS2015 with "Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.0/8.1 Tools" and select VS2013 toolchain in CMake - VS2015 will propose to upgrade solution (decline), but will build it using Win8.1 SDK. All IDE features of VS 2015 would be available. BTW, if Win10 is unstable for you - test your memory with Prime95.

Windows 10 does not crash, but it is more common that after different Windows updates, devices such as the sound card or wireless stop working. Hardware is ok, working perfect running Windows 7 or Ubuntu.

I tried OGRE-SDK-1.9.0-vc120-x64-13.02.2016.7z and It works properly.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the report. I'll check my build scripts and create a new version.

I'm trying to compile Ogre 1.10 for myself, but I'm using your compiled dependencies and your compiled boost. I'm using the x86 VS2013 versions.

I'm having trouble in CMake, I can use the dependencies fine, I just unpack them to a "Dependencies" folder in my Ogre_1_10 folder. However I don't know what to do with the Boost files. I tried just unpacking that to the Ogre_1_10 folder too, with various renamings, but CMake can never find boost.

I suspect I need to install these boost files somehow, or set up environment variables or something. How do I use your boost files?

I use a lot of batch files to compile ogre, because I've automated most build steps. This is a part of my CMake build command for Ogre 1.10 - but it works!
cmake.exe -D Boost_DIR:PATH=E:\Work\SDKs\vc120-x64\boost -D Boost_INCLUDE_DIR:PATH=E:\Work\SDKs\vc120-x64\boost -D OGRE_DEPENDENCIES_DIR:PATH=E:\Work\SDKs\vc120-x64\Dependencies -D FREETYPE_FT2BUILD_INCLUDE_DIR:PATH=E:\Work\SDKs\vc120-x64\Dependencies\include\freetype2 -D FREETYPE_INCLUDE_DIR:PATH=E:\Work\SDKs\vc120-x64\Dependencies\include\freetype2 -G "Visual Studio 12 Win64" E:\Work\Source\OGRE

Are the compilersettings of the provided binaries here really correct ?

At least for the Visual Studio 2015 x64 Build .... Freetype support is not included in the Debug variant.
In Release it works, but on Debug Freetype isnt used (only dds support for textures).

As Freetype is statically linked, it should a build setting problem ?

Ciao ...

Which Ogre package? I've checked all four packages, and FreeType is working with all of them.

I don't know if this is related, or whether it was just me messing things up. But when I tried to use the VS2013 x86 dependencies packages to build Ogre 1.10 from source, I had problems. CMake wouldn't include the sample browser and samples, and that seemed to be something related to Freetype, Cmake couldn't find it so wouldn't include the samples. When I built the dependencies myself everything was fine.

I think... good chance I'm totally wrong on that.
