I'm sure I'm not the only one interested.

Out of curiosity, what does it do that the Theora video plugin does not? The Theora plugin runs multi-platform...

I think I take offense to that. What is "unpretty" about the theora plugin's interface? Really, for basic playback of a video, it is very simple.

Maybe it is easier to get higher resolutions in the DirectShow based video plugin? Because you don't have to go through ogg?

I haven't checked the progress of it, but the last time I tried it out it was quite hard to get it running and updating properly, in my opinion the structure is a bit unpretty
*no need to defend* It's just my ""I would've done it different"" opinion

Must have been a long time ago, eh?
Last time I checked on the theora video plugin, there was nothing wrong with it, to the contrary.
I welcome the new videoplugin. I'd like to see some competion, that's all.
