No charging, they are free

I don't think we're asking too much.
Yeah, I was so depressed I almost given up on the idea :P
I know... I agree, after all it's your forum, you have the rights to ask for anything you want :)

I see only you trying to press your point, when the moderator of this forum has said, you can only post Ogre mesh format models here. Like it or not, there is no point arguing.
I have no intension of releasing my models in any other format other than as models for use within DeleD, and or Ogre based forums like this one. My goal, and therefore my decision, is to share them with platforms/programmes that I use to produce my work.

Seems the wiki has a greater relaxation for your links to your websites. Enjoy :)

It works both ways: the wiki is a community edited resource - so they can be mercilessly edited by the entire Ogre community ...

just wanted to make a quick point. whether you are getting free or especially if you are getting paid models, remember that if it does not contain an .mesh, there is no guarantee that you will be able to export it to one without a lot of work. Especially if its a higher res model that might be rigged for animation instead of games. another good reason to require .mesh models if you ask me.

as another note, also remember that a .mesh file won't allow you to edit the file, or add animations. even if you import the .mesh into your modeling app such as blender or 3dsmax, the original rig will still be lost, and you'll either have to recreate the rig to animate or rotate each bone by hand, which will look terrible if you need to do anything like keep the foot planted for instance or a number of other basic tasks.

in summary, if a model doesn't provide the original file and a .mesh both, expect a lot of work. however if you just want a temp file, or you are 100% sure it provides all the animations you need without modifications a .mesh alone would probably be ok.

That's sound advice.

None of my models are animated, or require to be. As a Machinimist (I make digital movies - Machinima), I create scenes that use a lot of assets like ladders, buckets etc etc, hence why I'm sharing these models. I also make scenes for use (Immersive Environments) which include those assets, these are objects that you don't really see in a scene, but can make the difference or realism. This is why I felt they were important for most users.
