trouble with blender to ogre exporter_export subsurfaces

why can't I export the mesh with subsurfaces
(converted to Mesh (Keep original))

Is there any simple catch about it?

The "simple catch" would be that you forgot to select the new mesh after conversion. However, there is a severe limitation converting a subsurf to mesh: You loose all vertex groups on conversion, therefore you have to do the rigging again.

thank you - there are actually two meshes - and I didn't see the subdivided one
