Inexperienced jobless C++ programmer looking to help

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

Inexperienced jobless C++ programmer looking to help

Post by jokoon »

Hello here :)

I'm currently looking for a decent, serious enough team where I could help. I don't have a job (I have my personal issues, but I won't put that on you).

I warn you, I don't have any serious experience in a company, but I learned a lot about C++ in the last years by myself, trying to make my own game on both Mac and Windows. I know a decent amount of math (went to prep school 1 year) and game programming (1 year in a game programming class). I don't have any degree except my french baccalaureat, I speak a decent english and I'm not afraid to talk in english on skype.

I'm looking for anything in particular, NOT really looking to be paid, but if help is needed on a small project involving Ogre3D, I'd be glad to join a team !

I don't know if you've already found a project to your liking - if not, and if you can imagine yourself participating in the development of a 4X space game, you can take a look at the FreeOrion project: http://www.freeorion.org.

As you can see, it's a community based open source project, so we can't offer any kind of pay. But if you like the project (and can agree to our design philosophy), we'd certainly be happy to welcome you. We're notoriously short on programmers, and especially in need of a developer who has experience with Ogre.
