I've only been using Blender with Ogre, so I'm guessing here, but perhaps your leg mesh isn't joined to the rest of the mesh in 3ds and certain information is being lost on export to ogre?

You can try with checked Export non-bones objects (must be in the modifier) option in exporter dialog. But I can't guarantee it should work properly, just a hint .

If you're still having the problem, I'd be glad to take a look at the model for you (if you can share it that is).
Email it to drpain AT greygames DOT com

Not promising I can figure it out, mind you. But I'll try :)

Listen, we've said a million times that the core team cannot afford 3DS, so we can't help you. You're fortunate that you can afford it, but you'll have to accept community support from people that have it (like Dr Pain). You may be annoyed at not being able to get this to work - well, I'm annoyed at not being able to help, because Discreet are completely unhelpful to us so we all have problems. Lioric is apparantly coming out with a new 3DS exporter soon so that might help.

If you want official support, use XSI since SoftImage are the only tool developer who have actually helped us out by letting us have access to their tools. Blender is also well supported by reimpell, and Maya by bisco. Right now there is no-one officially maintaining the existing 3DS exporter, which is a little galling considering how many people post in here wingeing about it. Wish I could do something about it, but there we are. If you want to change this, send us about $3000 and you're sorted.
