I don't think so. We can use this source if we want to start our own company one day as the basis for projects and I don't think releasing this source would be a good idea for our chances then. Now our own company is pure daydreaming of course, but still... ;)

I'm pretty sure every company was a dream once upon a time. Keep up the good work, I love its simplicity and, well, wacky gameplay. :D

Woei, we're about finished! Some final bugfixes are on the roll still and then by the end of June I expect the game will be online (we will be working on it for some two more days, the rest of the time is mainly waiting for the official presentation). Some screenshots of the definite look of the game:

I'll post an update when all of you can play this!

(If you think there is not enough colour in the screenshots, then you will have to play the game yourself and colour everything, because that is up to the player and I was too lazy to do it on the entire city right now ;)).

Haha, it's looking great. Let me know when you're done, I'd love to have 9 or so full-size shots to put in the featured projects area.

We have a highscore-list, actually. The player gets points for every object he paints for the first time and extra points for the landmark buildings (which are harder to paint). Also, when all landmarks have been painted and/or all hidden coins have been collected, extra points are given. That would make for a fixed maximum amount of points, because there is a certain amount of things to do and no way to go game over, so we also added a combo-system: if you score very fast, extra points are rewarded. The speed required to continue the combo increases with every hit, so that is the way to really score.

Everyone is invited to come play The Blob at the "Dag van de Architectuur" ("Architecture Day") next Saturday in Utrecht in The Netherlands. In the Infocenter next to the Mediamarkt in Hoog Catherijne (Gildenkwartier 193), the game will be playable from approximately 11.30 to 17.00. Free CD's of our game will be distributed.

Now I do not suppose anyone is actually going to come, but still, you are all invited! ;)

The download-version will hopefully be available then as well. I will post a link as soon as it is!

Great work, but it's a long way from the south of Germany to the Netherlands. Especially as a pupil :D

Woei, The Blob is downloadable now! I really hope many people are going to play this. :D

De Blob - Dutch version, 97mb
The Blob - English version, 97mb

De Blob - Dutch version, 97mb - MIRROR 1:

The Blob - English version, 97mb - MIRROR 1:
http://binnenstad.hku.nl/Release/The%20 ... glish).exe

The minimum system requirements for a nice framerate are about a 2ghz processor and 512mb RAM.

The Blob was made for the information centre about the changes that are going to happen in the station area of the Dutch city of Utrecht. Click for their website. The station and many other parts of the area are going to be completely rebuild, some roads are even going to be canals! The Blob plays in this new station area as it will be in 15 years.

I have to say, that is absolute quality. Fantastic job, I enjoyed playing it for quite a while :)

You did the city really well, it's really dense and packed, and all the little things like the animation on the people in the street, the way the buildings transition when painted, the way the blob changes shape when being blown up in the air, the sound, it's all very good indeed. Excellent work!

Wow, this is just great. This game looks and feels extremely professional. No glitches whatsoever, smooth gameplay (took me a while to figure it out, but I got it ;) ) and smooth graphics. And the game runs fine on my not so powerful system, was a bit surprised about this, since the city is pretty big.

Fabulous work. :D

Excellent Job, and I learned alot about the new city layout after playing for over an hour :D . Ran very smooth on my AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with ATI 9600XT at 1024x768 (DX9) with avg fps of 58.

I only have a 9700 Pro and I was playing at 1280x1024 no problems.

Oogst, that is completely awesome. My nieces and nephews are coming over this weekend and now I know what I am going to have them play. Not only did I have fun, but I bet everyone can have fun playing this.

Extremely well done. Congrats on the milestone. You guys should be proud.
