The Teddy Incident [update: released editor]
Hi!
I'd like to introduce The Teddy Incident game:
It's about accompanying a boy called Freddy, who has a fetish for teddy bears and sociopathic tendencies, in an oniric journey to rescue his only friend Teddy.
The game uses Ogre , NxOgre 0.9 ( so you'll need physX 2.7.3 at least installed if you want to play ), PagedGeometry for the grass and the Ogre Theora Plugin to play videos. Mogre is used for the tools.
Thanks to everyone who has made this possible!
For more images, and to download the game:
http://www.teddyincident.com
Alternative download page, in case the server is down
Link to the editor
Hope you guys like it!
A gameplay video. Not the latest version of the game, but close enough...
A screenshot of the editor developed to build the levels:
A video of the game editor, which I should be adding soon to the website so that anyone can make their own levels.
The animation system used is also interesting ( but what am I to say... I made it... ). I'll reserve another post entirely to talk about it, though. In the meantime, here's a screen of the animation tree editor (click for a bigger image):

I had problems using the link on your page. I kept getting file not found. However, I manually changed link to http://www.teddyincident.com/files/teddyincident.zip (lower case) and it is downloading now. Odd.
Have a question about Input? Video? WGE? Come on over... http://www.wreckedgames.com/forum/

Thanks @everyone
The original team was of five members and everyone has pretty much gone their own way after the master. The two other programmers have full time jobs, I should start looking for one, and one of the artists is MIA.
We did manage to get some work done though after the master, but the group was already down to three ( a programmer, an artist and me ).
So, as much as I'd like to add new levels and polish the game some more, the circumstances make it difficult.
The animation system and editor was mainly done before starting this project, so development on it was halted during the game, but I'm on it again.
I'll open a new thread on the animation system.
And well, to add something interesting, here is some old concept art I did for the game.
Glad you had the time to try it out at lastI can say I enjoyed the game, it's well done and fairly polished.
Mea culpa. I'll correct the link as soon as the server comes back from the dead...I had problems using the link on your page
Much as I like the idea, I highly doubt it will happen.I really hope you will push this game beyond your masters' project if possible polish it into a commercial game.

Thanks! The rimlight effect was me trying to discover how to do a normal mapping shader and playing around without ever having touched a shader before I think I'll have to learn shader programming... It has been on my TODO list for too much time...I really love the art style (mainly the rimlight effect)
I just checked the game svn and the first commit dates from 8th of April, and the last from the 10th of October, so it's been 6 months working on game code. Game framework was started a little bit before that ( resource loading, gamestate managemenet.. ). The level editor work started around June I think.how long have you guys been working on this?

There's the option to do so and it can be activated/deactivated via a shortcut key or an icon on the toolbar ( G ). I'll upload the level editor when I have some time.In your editor, the props automatically stick to the floor?
I'll open a new thread on the animation system.

Nanos, felicitats!
És el millor projecte del mà ster s'ha de reconéixer!
Heu currat com uns cabrons i el resultat és espectacular.
La meva enhorabona.
Salutacions.
Guys, congratulations!
That's the best project in the master grad I have to admit it!
You've worked hard and the result is really great.
My congratulations.
Regards.

The website seems to be up again, and I fixed the download link ( thanks pjcast )
Anyway, just in case the server decides to commit suicide again, the game can also be downloaded form here.
I've opened a new thread on the animation system as promised.
Nice to see you here Alan ( heu currat com uns cabrons -> you've worked hard )!

Hah, cool project, I like the "shag" 60's style mixed with blood-splatter and impressive work on the animation & level editor. Muy rico.

Great level editor, animation system and overall graphics style But as nothing is perfect I have some criticism for you:
- The combat gameplay might need some work. I found it easier to just ignore the enemies most of the time.
- Camera controls are very direct, rotating the camera could feel a little bit smoother.
- Jumping is quite hard to do. I didn't complete the game up to now because I got fed up from falling down into the void
- The blood spatter effect could use some work, it doesn't hold up to the otherwise very nice graphics.
- Shadow quality changes way too much depending on the camera angle.
