Experienced dev team for hire (programmers and artists)

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

Experienced dev team for hire (programmers and artists)

Post by blackhound70 »

Hello everyone,

I am Eric Trudel CEO of Wendigo Studios. We have an experienced game devevelopment team that is ready for hire.

We are looking for paid programming and artistic contracts while we wait for the publishing deal for our first game to be finalised.

We have 5 experienced programmers with knowledge in :
• Ogre graphic engine
• C++ programming
• Shaders
• OpenGL / DirectX
• Mathematics

Our programming team is involved in numerous community projects here on ogre3d.org (like the pagedGeometry project). Our team has been working for the last year and a half on a custum game engine for our first game called XSLED hillclimb. They have been also building great development tools for level editing, cinematics and physics tweeking.

We have 4 experienced 3D artists with knowledge in :
• 3D modeling using maya, XSI and 3DMax
• 3D texturing
• Level editing
• knowledge on the OGRE graphic engine

We also have one good game designer to help you make a good game design document.

You dont need to have work for all the team, we can do small and large projects. If you have medium to large projects we offer the advantage of a team located in the same office and it enables us to work much more efficiently.

For more information and for a quote you can contact me at e.trudel-at-wendigostudios-dot-com

Your level editor look awesome!

Your logo on the other hand looks painfully much like Lionhead Studios imo.

But congrats on your upcomming game!

Thanks for the kind comments regarding the level editor. We put a lot of work into this... this is starting to pay off.

A few details about the level editor

* it is build using C#, to speed development
* it creates an instance of the game and run it into a window
* all communications between the game and the level editor is done in TCP/IP much like a multiplayer game. This enable us to have a few developers working at the same time on the same level and speed up development. Pretty cool

Regarding the incidental stylistic similarities between our logo and lionhead... I agree, they have some similar features... still the strokes and rendering is quite different.

That said, I'd rather that our logo have some simliarities with Lionhead then rockstar game for example. I've personnaly always loved what peter has done with his games, so I'll take your comments as a compliment. In essence... it isn't painfull to me.

Thats such a cool architecture for a level editor. Kudos.

And i hope i didnt offend too much with the comment about the logo. I just instantly thought about lionhead when i saw you logo, and to me its pretty obviously where the inspiration came from. That however is no problem whatsoever, if you guys dont mind. Just wanted to point it out, incase you weren't going for it.

Good luck on your upcomming game!

We are not available anymore for further outsourcing.

We just signed a partnership with ZigZag Island in France and we will conjointly produce 6 small casual game titles for Wii and DS during 2009. These titles will be for the german publisher Koch Media. We will also create in partnership with Koch Media several Web Based MMO titles to be announced in the next quarter.

We are now hiring and plan to expand to 40 people in the next year.

If you have good programming skills (web or C++) and are willing to move to canada we have position for you.

You can see the job descriptions on our website at :

Coming from a graphic designer standpoint... It is... Awfully similar. Almost freakishly so. Branding can be one of your most powerful assets as a company, why not do something that deviates a bit more? Especially with an already established studio I would think you would want to set yourself apart as much as possible.
