good graphics Laptop suggestions?

Hello

I am considering buying a laptop but there are so many out there for different need, I really have no clue where to look. For me, since I run linux, I want a linux friendly laptop with drivers and stuff, and i'll dual boot with windows. The next obvious thing is graphics, I want a really really good graphics card , and 3d graphics friendly support on the laptop. The price range I am looking at is about 1000 dollars. Any suggestions from personal experience?

Stay away from vendor locked models (ie models where you can't update your graphics driver directly, but are forced to use their updaters).
And don't touch Intel graphics.

Other than that: haven't a clue. nVidia is always a safe bet.
If you're planning on going Linux with it, consider getting a graphics laptop designed for it.
Or, if you can't (or won't) go for that, at the very least go through the hardware and check the compatibility list.

Go with Nvidia. I have the latest Intel Graphic Chip and it is slooooooow.

Just to mix it up, I've been a fan of ATI (AMD) cards in laptops. Their Radeon Mobility HD series has some pretty good specs

Just make sure that it's 100% supported under Linux. Some ATIs really aren't.
