Sirikata (http://www.sirikata.com) is an BSD licensed open source platform for games and virtual worlds. We aim to provide a set of libraries and protocols which can be used to deploy a virtual world, as well as fully featured sample implementations of services for hosting and deploying these worlds. The project has grown our of some years of research at Stanford Computer Science and we are now trying to build this out to a full scale community run open source project.
The Platform Developers starting page (http://www.sirikata.com/wiki/index.php? ... Developers) is a good place to get a further sense of the project and what needs to get done. Any code related questions can be asked on our open dev list (http://groups.google.com/group/platformtalk).
We are looking for highly skilled C++ programmers and experience with Ogre and working on large systems would be preferable. Paid contract work is available for very strong candidates.
Please send your bio/CV to Henrik Bennetsen (bennetsen@gmail.com) with links to any relevant work as well as eventual suggestions for what part of our system you may have an interest in working on.

Re: Sirikata
When are you going to post a topic in our ShowCase forum?
This is seriously awesome(ium).
I put this project on my to-watch list.

Re: Sirikata
You are probably right. We were hoping for a bit more of a release but could probably show some video and screenshots. Still getting the hang of this 'early and often' business
