Torchlight!

Post by Ogrillon »

So, who got a copy? I just grabbed mine off of Direct2Drive. The game is really entertaining so far, but from a programmer's perspective, I'll say this:

After my earlier attempts to use OGRE and learn C++ at the same time (which didn't work as well as I had planned :D), I eventually began learning Irrlicht after I had built my fundies. It's very easy, little setup, can do a lot quite quickly even if you're not a very experienced programmer. But I feel like I'm dumbing myself down using it. So at long last, I've returned to OGRE, and these forums too :). Torchlight sealed the deal. What they managed to do with OGRE, and with such modest system requirements too, is awesome to the point where it's impossible to describe. You won't catch me (willingly) programming with Irrlicht ever again.

Anyone else check it out yet/have thoughts?

Yes, quite many. A classical case of non-using the forum search ;), so I posted the link below . There is a big thread about this nice game (just played the demo yesterday und will definetly get it from Steam the next days).
