I love The Secret of Monkey Island!
Listening to the original soundtrack almost brings tears into my eyes. So good memories.
I guess I am the kind of a player who has one or two very good games in a decade. Then I do not care so much for the rest (not getting many games for myself because simply I do not feel a need for many games - a few very good will keep me happy).

Operation Flashpoint. I spent hours crawling in bushes, trying to avoid those T-72s... this game showed to me it is possible to achieve a "fear" effect in a computer game like you will get in real life if you watch an enemy battle tank coming at you! It doesn't even have to be an enemy tank in real life and many people will start shaking and hope they would not have to be there. The military trains the Anti-Tank Jägers so that they force them to lie down in front of an incoming battle tank. Then when the tank is like a metre or two from the guy then he is allowed to roll out of danger. It's fun watching those guys from a few metres back how they are sweating and getting very nervous when the tank is very close, even when they know it's a friendly tank and not going to drive over them they are still scared. I get a terrible feeling in a computer game that I must get out of there when the tank is so close!
Operation Flashpoint is the first game that made me feel like that. The "oh no I am going to die" feeling, but then you know you must just stay still... don't move... and the sound of the tank is getting louder and louder!

Yeah, those three are the soundtracks I remember the best from computer games.
