Win7 insomnia!

Anyone else have trouble getting their computer to go to sleep? I spent the last hour turning off 'wake on' features in device manager, tweaking the power options, but I just couldnt get my damn box to go to sleep! Eventually, I came across this...

Sure enough the culprit was youtube/flash all along! When I closed all the browser tabs with flash in them, my computer went to sleep as expected. So I updated to the latest version of flash, updated my audio drivers, but I still cant get my computer to sleep when flash is running! Gahhh so I have to remember to close my web browser before I step away form my computer now kinda defeats the purpose of auto sleep...

Anyway, anyone else having this problem? Heard of any workarounds?

Nope but didn't updated the OS and Flash since few weeks. I work a lot with Flash, Chrome, Firefox, sometimes IE and Eclipse at the same time. So it's certainly a problem occuring after an update OR totally local to your machine.

Seems unlikely since other people are reporting it. So if you leave a finished youtube video open, your computer will still auto sleep? And youre using win7 64bit?

Will switch to 64 bit soon (once the project I'm working on is released, in few weeks).

I have no problems with getting my PC to sleep. I have a problem with my computer raising from the dead though. I shut the thing down, and several minutes later, it'll start back up... weird lol.

I should start unplugging the cable lol.

I don't have any problem getting it to sleep/back from sleep with a flash tab opened in google chrome.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.

I found some guy who said he fixed this by updating his audio driver, so I bet that can solve the problem too. Unfortunately I just tried the beta driver for my onboard VIA audio, and the damn thing still wont sleep with youtube open...

I was told a wooden stake right through the PSU does help in this case

Haha looks like the BIOS is configured to wake on mouse or keyboard input

Thats weird, but might be it though. Adobe does use its own sound system instead of the one inside the browser. (IE, when using Hikari or something else you still have flash sound even though you never added sound to your project). I'm quite curious what adobe answers, keep us posted!
