Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
Plz remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki because CeGUI has its own samples (with Ogre) and it makes no sense to host the tuts here anymore.

I don't agree with that.
CEGUI is excellent, and I highly recommend it.
We just need to update them, that's all.

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
CeGUI is nice but now the Ogre team do not provide the renderer anymore and it makes no sense to provide tuts for it when the right place is the CeGUI wiki.

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
It makes a lot of sense, IMO.
Otherwise people will get the idea of using the SdkTrays instead, and we can't have that.
CEGUI and Ogre has a history. What's wrong with that?
We need to show people how easy it is to plug in a professional grade GUI.
Since we already have tutorials for MyGUI, QuickGUI, and all other GUI, we could do with some CEGUI tutorials.
We do have tutorials on the Ogre wiki about OIS, you know.
Even though it should've been on the OIS Wiki.
<edit>But this is just my opinion </edit>

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
What I mean is: since we are not having CEGUI as a dependency any more, doesn't mean we are going to banish CEGUI.
I prefer to have some tutorials demonstrating how easy it is to use CEGUI with Ogre, and I prefer to have them in the Ogre wiki, because they are Ogre specific.
And because most other GUI alternatives for Ogre are addons, which means they already have an Ogre wiki presence.
I see no reason to break the tradition, regardless of CEGUI not being part of the dependency download.
And people are already busy updating..

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
Sorry, where is the meaning of removing useful information just because of some kind of irrelevance? We aren't here at wikipedia, you know... As long as there are users using OGRE and CeGUI, it is a good thing to have tutorials from both sides, makes things much more clearer.

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
I meant not to destroy the information just move it to CeGUI Wiki which is a better place for CeGUI stuff.

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
It isn't just CEGUI though, it is CEGUI + Ogre, which means that the Ogre Wiki is a fine place for it. This is especially true as the first place people look for a gui is at the Wiki (It was with me at least).Wolfmanfx wrote:I meant not to destroy the information just move it to CeGUI Wiki which is a better place for CeGUI stuff.

My vote is for updating the tutorials (cegui ones included obviously) and leave them on the ogre wiki.
Also, get me a new development laptop.

Re: Remove CeGUI tuts from Wiki
CEGUI isn't relevant to me as I've never used it, but I can't see removing useful items from the wiki either! If they need to be updated they should be flagged for sure, so people aren't using obsolete code. Fahrenheit 51, you book burning naysayers!!!
