I entered Australia's APC Magazine (a national computer mag) 'Master builder' competition late last year.
I managd to get past the first round and get published in the January edition of the mag (and also online - Here, which got me into the semi finals competing against 36 semi-finalists.
I also managed to win the semi-finals outright (Semi finals - Here), and a bunch of prizes.
Last Wednesday (19th May) the four finalists battled it out in APC labs in Sydney, Aus.
The challenge was to build a PC from scratch with the components supplied, load Windows 7 and all drivers, then install Bioshock 2. The winner was the first person to display the title screen.
Game on!
I managed to have the entire system built and at completion within a bit over an hour, while the other guys where yet to press the power button!
The winner was delared!
Second and third place where decided within 15 seconds of each other (another hour and a half after I had finished).
It was an awesome day. I also walked away with about $6000 woth of computer gear!
