I'm currently working in an HCI lab that has this über-expensive motion tracking system. A few days ago, I got bored and decided to make a game just for fun, using a squash racket as a controller for a gun, kind of like the Wii or PlayStation Move (but not exactly, as I'll explain later). Naturally, I used OGRE for graphics.
Video: Demon Monkey Shooter
(Sorry for the bad quality!)
We've got a score counter, a health meter, and a jamming system for the gun (to prevent blind spraying). The monkeys spawn more and more quickly, and become louder and more annoying as they come closer. The character makes sarcastic, Duke Nukem style remarks, and an announcer cheers you on for every 20 monkeys you destroy. Oh and don't forget the kickass background music. The system itself works surprisingly well. You use the racket pretty much like a laser pointer. The crosshair lands exactly where you point the racket. The gun on the screen then aims at a point far along the ray cast from under the crosshair. In addition, its position on the screen reflects the racket's positioning in the room. The monkeys flying around are a modified version of Suzanne, the default monkey model in Blender. I made her more vicious-looking, and animated the mouth to go NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM!
