At Pax Gearbox announced that they are the new DNF developers, and the game is due for release next year. They even had a playable level available.
So... after 12 years of waiting what awesome features have they revealed are in the resurrected DNF?

Re: Duke Nukem Forever not so dead afterall
I was watching the live stream for almost an hour. I'm impressed on how much they have done.
It seems to me that most (of it not all) of the artwork and media is done, they just need to upgrade it to the new Unreal Engine(again). I read somewhere it was using Meqon for physics, which tells how old it is.
But they have to release it on April 1st 2011, or at least announce it's gone gold on that date. Any other day in the year and the joke is ruined!

Meqon was pretty damn cool, it still has one of the best physics engine demos (the scene where you throw spheres at animated ragdolls is awesome).
True, April 1 is the best time for a release, just to mess with people.

Exactly. There should be a massive conspiracy to keep it under wraps. It should be simultaneously released on Steam and in shops on the April the 1st, without the public knowing. In fact there should be hints and leaks in March, that the release date has been pushed back further due to "issues".Kojack wrote:True, April 1 is the best time for a release, just to mess with people.
It would be the greatest surprise of all times.

It would be nice to see.
Of course, it would be a killer to my productivity (especially if it and Mechwarrior 5 come out around the same time)

That looks pretty damn cool. Although I'm not much of a mech warrior fan, I prefer more agile mechs like Valkyries and Tachikomas.
Prey turned out ok after being given to another company to finish it, so maybe Duke will be ok too.

From what I've seen from 'secret footage' over the years, it's well worth the wait.
Humour and FPS - how I miss that.
I sincerely hope that they succeed - not holding my breath though!
