Call for beta testers! (Supremacy)

Post by PraetorBlue »

Here at Black Hammer Game we've been working for the past year on Supremacy: Four Paths to Power, a turn-based sci-fi strategy game that utilizes the Ogre engine. You might have seen some of our development screenshots in the "Projects Using Ogre" gallery in another part of this site.

We are looking for a handful of beta testers (we are not doing a widespread public beta) to play and test our game. This forum is one of the very few places we have made this known. If you would like to be considered for the beta, please send me an email at vance@blackhammer.com, and include your PC specifications (CPU speed and type, RAM size, operating system, video card type, type of connection to the Internet, and whether you use a router).

If you are chosen (you have a very good chance!), we'll get back to you very shortly with further instructions.

This is a great chance for some of the Ogre community to take a look at how Ogre is being used in a commercial game. I look forward to hearing from all who respond!

Thanks Temas, if you could sticky this, that would be great! Tentatively, I'll say that we can accept new beta testers until the end of May.

As far as whether or not I've received emails from certain people, the easiest way to handle this is just to send it again (if it was returned, or you're not sure it went through). If I get two from the same person, I'll just keep one. Much easier than going through the emails and trying to find which one is from whom. :)

Thank you to everyone who has already contacted me, you will be getting a response email either today or tomorrow!

Beta period extended

Post by PraetorBlue »

Hi everyone,

The beta testers we've gotten from the Ogre community have been among the most active in discussions and bug reports. Keep up the great work!

We've just extended our beta period for another 4-6 weeks. If you would like to be involved, send me an email at vance@blackhammer.com with your system specs. We are looking to add a bunch of new testers for this second phase.

Look forward to hearing from you,
Vance Vagell

There are still 2 weeks of beta testing left, if anyone else wants to join in! The game is reasonably polished at this point, so you can get a sneak-peek at it before it hits shelves in a couple months, while helping us resolve any last-minute issues.

Read the first post in this thread to see how to join in.

Look forward to hearing from you,
Vance

Beta over... but

Post by PraetorBlue »

Beta is complete for Supremacy: Four Paths to Power. I want to thank all of the dedicated testers we received from the Ogre community once again, you did a great job.

If you would like to further follow the development of our project, please visit http://www.supremacygame.com. We have lots of game info, screenshots (mostly from early beta, we will update these soon), and a new public forum. We expect to have a public demo available for download sometime in September, so be sure to check back often for updates.

In addition, expect to see it for sale soon. :)

Thanks,
PraetorBlue

One more note

Post by PraetorBlue »

As a reminder, we are no longer accepting beta testers, since we are past the beta test. However, you can expect the big announcement within a few weeks. ;)

Thanks for posting the link. As of the 24th of January, there are another 20 brand-new screens up on gamespot. The official site for our game is supremacygame.com, and it should be out in the next couple weeks.

Hey, you made it! This is the best proof that OGRE can actually be used for commercial purposes, and that we have professional people in various sectors working on the engine.

Congrats, and hope your game rocks the shelves! ;)
