Can't seem to find a way to specify it in Opengl. I debugged and still. what am I missing?

You specify it exactly the same wasy as in D3D, as an entry in the NameValuePairList when you call createRenderWindow.
If you're using a version prior to 1.0.0 you might find it more awkward since setExternalWindowHandle was not virtual in some older versions. Either upgrade to 1.0.0 or get Hastur from CVS.
