Can gameSpace work?

Post by Zshazz »

I'm sorry, I'm really new to Ogre.

My question is can gameSpace be made to work? I assume it doesn't have an exporter just for it, because I haven't seen anything on it... but, is there a way to convert the .x files or the .cob and .can it makes (.cob is the object, and .can is the animation) to something ogre can use?

It is made by caligari and can be found at http://www.caligari.com/gamespace/

By the way, I haven't bought it yet, I just wanted to see if it could let me put the stuff I make into Ogre, I'm just using the Light version at the moment.

As it exports to 3ds max format, you can use it in Ogre.
Just use one of the 3dsmax-exporters. :)

But if you have 3DSMax and using for exporting, why bother and buy GameSpace too?

AFAIK there is a standalone 3ds-converter for OGRE around - I don't know if it can be made to work with Ogre 1.0
That way you don´t have to own max.
It is a while since I saw that tool, though ...
