model from 2d to 3d

Post by RomiSoft »

Hello,

I am not the best artist, because I am more a programmer :)
but I want to create a game and I need some models. Now I have a 2d picture of what I want. I want to make a cow model. But not like a cow in the field, but one which is more human. Like a cow which is walking with two legs. As an example of the 'cow':

Image

What is the best way to create this character in 3d? Are there specials ways to do this? Must I draw the 2d sketch from different sides or one site and the try to make it 3d?

Maybe you have some tricks for me?

Yeah.... find an artist to do it for you... There's no tricks when it comes to 3D, it's all practice.

You have to have a very vivid imagination, along with a LOT of attention to physical detail.

You have to make two drawings of your cow in the basic pose (arms out):
one front and one side.
If you are working in max, you set those pictures as background in your viewports and begin making vertices.
