Rain in Ogre

Post by pr0n1x »

Help please.
I have loaded the demo with generation of the particles, there there is rain on the general plan.
When I created its scene and in she has installed the mist, that rain turned out to be very bad.
Help how I remake the rain in Ogre?
And else I have loaded in SceneNode rain and tried his sprain on the whole scene, beside me nothing do not leave.
The Rain beside I go only on determined area scene, how do I his sprain on the whole scene?
I created 20 SceneNode and in each has loaded the rain and has placed on miscellaneous coordinate, then beside me rain goes on the whole scene but in this time and I get lost plenty of system resources. Possible do on the other?

Shall is much thanked for answers with code.
Thank you.

please dont post the same question on different forums, your question will be answered without having to resort to posting on many forums. after all, all the forums are viewed by all the members, posting in multiple forums is pointless (and also against the forum rules)

Try looking through the samples. There are water demos there.

Rain is simulated with particles in the ParticleFX demo.

And if you use fog, you should use the fog_override attribute in your particle material, see the manual for details.

Ah, so that explains it!

I saw this code in the water demo:

Code: Select all

// Put in a bit of fog for the hell of it
        //mSceneMgr->setFog(FOG_EXP, ColourValue::White, 0.0002);
But when I tried uncommenting it the rain particles turned into ugly foggy squares.

So I take it the fog_override attrib would fix that?

If you want rain in the whole scene, attach the particle system to the scenenode to which the moving camera is also attached. This way the rain will 'follow' the camera.
