XSI foundation issues

Post by codeRunner »

Hello,

I've bought XSI foundation online and I am totally lost with that licensing stuff.

I simply want to ask some questions about the differences between company and personal license and if a personal license can be used to create commercial stuff. Second issue is that 2 of the tutorial disks are damaged.

I wrote an email twice to the webmaster about that and thougt they ignore me but noticed today that I indeed received 2 replies without a subject nor any clue that these 2 emails were from Softimage i.e. Avid.

The problem is that the email(s) contains a ton of links but it seems that you need a valid license or a maintenance contract to get support. I wonder what someone should do if he's stuck in the progress to get that license.

Sorry for being off topic and thanks for your help.

Best regards.

If you bought Foundation, you can use anything you create with it commercially. The difference between single license and site license is that with a single (personal) license, you can only install it on one computer, and only you can use it. With a site or company-wide license, you can install it on all your computers, and everyone at your company can use it.

I don't work for XSI or anything though, so if you want to be absolutely sure, you should check with them.

Thank you makeshiftwings.

(If I got it right, 1 personal license will be sticky to 1 PC and person and 1 company license will be sticky to the company and can be installed on more PCs but only be used by one person/employee at the same time.)
