Blender Export Script: Seg Fault

Hi, I'm having trouble getting the blender exporter to work consistantly. I'm running blender 2.37a (static) under linux (ubuntu 5.04) with python 2.3. I select a mesh, run the export script, press 'Export' and blender shuts down with a segmentation fault. There doesn't appear to be any extra information either, which is annoying.
Is there some way I can get extra information to be produced? Are there any key things that I should be careful of when creating models to be exported? Sometimes it crashes when I'm setting up which actions to export, pressing the delete button seems to be a common trigger there. Although now I can't even just export the mesh. It did actually work once, after many times trying to get it to work.. but I can't get it to work again (using the exact same settings).
Anyway, I'm about to work through step by step creating a new mesh to see if I can identify where the problem occurs. But if anyone has any pointers that would be great.
Also, other scripts do seem to work fine.
Thanks,
- Jelly.
